Avail Solar is the volume story of our Utah track. It is the only one of the three companies we researched that appears on any 2026 Solar Power World list, ranked 7 in Utah and 319 nationally with 1,478.65 kW installed, all residential, as an Installer. Its SPW supplier page adds 2,646 kW installed since founding and 25 employees. That is independently reported volume, which most young installers cannot show. The Utah DOPL license, 13317331-5501, is Active since May 3, 2023 with E200 general electrical and B100 general building classifications, no disciplinary actions on the detail record or in the DOPL actions database, and zero BBB complaints. Utah's DOPL structure treats the E200 electrical classification as a verifiable contractor license for this work, though the license carries no S202 Solar Photovoltaic classification, which is the solar-specific one.

So why a C? Age and unknowns. The company started February 23, 2023 per BBB, a date the SPW supplier page and the DOPL issue date both corroborate. Three years is not much runway for judging how a company honors its installations. No workmanship warranty appears anywhere on the fetched pages; the site promises product warranties of up to 25 years, which run to the manufacturers, not to Avail. The BBB file only opened November 12, 2025, so the zero-complaint record covers months, not years, and the single review on that profile criticizes a salesman's product knowledge and a contract clause putting the buyer on the hook for 35 percent of the contract value after 4 days. The addresses also wander: Bluffdale on the DOPL record, Salt Lake City on its own terms page, West Jordan on the SPW supplier page, and Murray on the Maps listing.

Get a quote if you like what the volume evidence says, because it is the real thing here. Then close the gaps yourself. Ask for the workmanship warranty in writing with a term and a scope, read the cancellation clause before you sign anything, and confirm which address and entity name goes on your contract. A young company with verified installs and a clean record so far is worth a conversation. It is not yet worth blind trust.
