Envision Solar Inc

F
F grade. The ROC revoked license 330401 through discipline closed July 14, 2026, the bond is cancelled, the record says the contractor cannot contract on this license, and BBB reports the business is out of business.

Do not get a quote from Envision Solar Inc, and if someone offers you one under this name, that is itself a red flag. The Arizona ROC record for Envision Solar Inc, license 330401, CR-11 Electrical, shows status Revoked, with a disciplined case (2026-04365, outcome Legal - Revoked) closed July 14, 2026, two cases still open, one of them showing Legal - Suspended, and a cancelled surety bond. The detail page carries the warning that this contractor is not able to contract with this license at this time. BBB gives the company no rating because it is out of business.

The history matters if you bought from them. In its own BBB responses, Envision stated it did not perform installations and only handled sales, with Elevation Solar doing the installs and handling refunds, service, and production issues. So an Envision customer chasing a warranty or production problem is likely chasing the installer of record, not the sales company that signed them up. The 14 BBB complaints logged in the last 3 years fit that shape: incentive checks of $1,096.62, $1,268.88, and $2,304.66 paid only after BBB complaints, a new build that failed inspection three times with the meter box installed directly above the gas line and the system wired backward, and door-to-door soliciting past a No Soliciting sign. One footnote from the license record: former qualifying party Kevin Michael Amaral still holds his own active sole-proprietor CR-11, ROC 329460, under the name RRE.

One thing this company is not: the public EV-charging firm. Envision Solar International, Inc. of San Diego renamed itself Beam Global (Nasdaq: BEEM) in September 2020 and builds EV charging infrastructure. Nothing in the records we read connects that company to this revoked Phoenix residential solar sales shop owned by Darryl J Johnson. The name overlap is coincidental, and search results that blend the two will mislead you in both directions.

The evidence

LongevityVerified

BBB dates the business start and incorporation to January 6, 2014 and the ROC first issued license 330401 on August 28, 2020, but the record ends badly: BBB now reports the business is out of business, so the operating history is closed, not ongoing. The company site could not be read to confirm any founding claim.

Complaints and enforcementAdverse record

The ROC record shows 1 disciplined case, 2026-04365, outcome Legal - Revoked, closed July 14, 2026, plus 2 open cases including 2025-11521 showing Legal - Suspended. BBB logs 14 complaints in 3 years, 6 closed in 12 months, with unpaid incentive checks delivered only after BBB involvement and a triple-failed inspection, and the profile flags 1 alert whose text is not displayed. This is a state licensing enforcement record, the most serious kind we track.

Verifiable volumeAdverse record

No Envision Solar entry appears in the populated 2026 Solar Power World tables, and by the company's own BBB responses it did not perform installations at all: it sold systems that Elevation Solar installed. There is no installation volume to verify because there were no Envision installs.

License statusAdverse record

ROC 330401, Specialty Dual CR-11 Electrical, is Revoked, with the page stating the contractor is not able to contract with this license at this time. The $6,750 Western Surety bond is Cancelled. A revoked license marked unable to contract is an active license problem and an automatic F under our rubric.

Warranty termsPending verification

No warranty terms could be confirmed anywhere: the company site is robots-disallowed, BBB says the business is out of business, and no warranty language appears in the BBB records read. Existing customers should pursue Elevation Solar, the installer of record per Envision's own BBB responses.

How to read this

An F here reports a closed case, not a close call: the state revoked the license, the bond is gone, and the business is gone. If you are a past Envision customer, the grade points you to your real counterparty, which by Envision's own statements is Elevation Solar as the installer of record. And if a salesperson invokes this name today, check the ROC record yourself before anything else, because nobody can lawfully contract on license 330401. Our full rubric, including how our own installation business gets graded on the same scale, is on the methodology page. We are a solar installer and we partner with other solar companies. Grading is structurally separated from revenue; see disclosures.
