Freedom Power
The evidence
The company says it was founded in 2007. BBB lists a May 7, 2007 business start, although it also lists a January 1, 2002 local start. Either way, this is an established operator rather than a new entrant. The entity naming matters: BBB lists Freedom Power with the DBAs Freedom Solar Power and Freedom Solar LLC, and the company says it was formerly Freedom Solar LLC.

BBB reports an A+ rating and accreditation, but also 94 complaints in the last three years and 23 closed in the last 12 months. That complaint volume is the highest in this 25-company set. No bankruptcy, acquisition, or regulatory action against Freedom Power itself was verified. Do not confuse it with Freedom Forever: Freedom Power published a statement denying any relationship after Freedom Forever filed Chapter 11 on April 15, 2026.

No employee total, system count, installed megawatts, or annual installed volume was available in the research. The company says it handles sales, design, permitting, installation, maintenance, and support in-house with W-2 employees and no subcontracted sales or third-party installers. That is the company's own operating description, so we treat it as a claim. It did not appear in the 2025 or 2026 Top Texas Solar Contractors lists reviewed for this research.

Texas Electrical Contractor license 28621 appears in the official TDLR extract for Austin, Travis County, with an expiration date of December 22, 2026. BBB lists additional licenses in Colorado, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, but those out-of-state numbers were not verified against their own state databases. The Texas license is the relevant verified record for a Houston buyer.
Freedom Power publishes a 25-year workmanship warranty for installation and electrical work, including a 10-year roof-penetration warranty. It also lists panel-brand production terms, with stated year-25 output floors ranging from 84% to 92%, depending on the panel. These are the company's own published terms, so we treat them as claims. How to read this
Freedom Power is not a company to dismiss on a single surface-level signal. The Texas license is verifiable, the warranty language is more specific than most, and the company says it keeps work in-house. Still, 94 BBB complaints in three years is not a small footnote. Ask for a written project timeline, who owns each handoff, and the escalation path if permitting, roof work, or activation stalls. Then read the workmanship warranty against the final contract, not the marketing page. Our full rubric, including how our own installation business gets graded on the same scale, is on the methodology page. We are a solar installer and we partner with other solar companies. Grading is structurally separated from revenue; see disclosures.
