CSLB business name searches for Get Smarter Solar and Smarter Solar returned no license record for this company, no license number appears anywhere on its site, and the 25 year workmanship warranty quoted on its homepage is Axia's warranty, not its own. Our rubric caps any company without a verifiable license of its own at C, and that cap applies.
The installer behind the curtain checks out better than the storefront. Axia Solar Corp, doing business as Qcells for New Homes, holds CSLB license 1090641, current and active with C-46 Solar and C-10 Electrical, issued April 25, 2022 and expiring April 30, 2028. But be careful with that linkage: no fetched page states that license 1090641 covers jobs sold by Get Smarter Solar. The connection rests entirely on the dealer language on Get Smarter Solar's own site. Two more things worth knowing about Axia. Its BBB profile is A+ and accredited, with 10 complaints in three years, including an unreturned $1,000 deposit after a next-day cancellation and an 8 panel system still not fully functional 10 months after install. If Axia's hardware and pricing appeal to you, a quote costs nothing. If the answer to all three is Axia, you should evaluate Axia, and know that your dealer relationship adds a layer between you and the company responsible for the roof.
