IGT Solar is worth a quote in the Tallahassee area, and the dates are the reason to trust the record. The company site says it has been installing solar since 2008. BBB dates the business start to June 16, 2008. The Florida solar contractor license was issued September 18, 2008. Three independent records, one story, eighteen years. Companies that inflate their history rarely line up this cleanly. The complaint side is just as quiet: BBB rates Independent Green Technologies LLC A+ with zero complaints, though it is not accredited, and searches found no attorney general, FTC, or DBPR action naming the company. The only public fight on file is a 2017 letter asking the City of Tallahassee to halt a municipal solar subscription program it said hurt local installers, which is advocacy, not enforcement.
The license deserves a short explanation, because Florida structures it differently than most homeowners expect. Certified Solar Contractor license CVC56732, Current and Active through August 31, 2028, is held by Matthew David Chentnik personally, doing business as IGT Solar. Chentnik is the founder, described in a 2017 Tallahassee Reports item as having started IGT in his garage a decade earlier. The LLC itself holds only DBPR business tracking records for construction and electrical. That is the normal Florida arrangement, where a qualifying agent carries the license for the business, but it means the credential lives with one person. If Chentnik ever leaves, the license does not stay behind.
What the record does not contain keeps this at B. No company workmanship warranty appears anywhere fetched; the Tesla page shows the 10 year Powerwall manufacturer warranty and the company's Powerwall certified installer status, and the about page returns PAGE NOT FOUND, so basic facts like crew model go unpublished. Volume is stale: an undated Solar Power World supplier page shows 274 residential EPC installations in 2015, and the company appears on no 2026 SPW list. The company also rebranded recently, same business, same quality, new look in its own words, and BBB lists alternate names including Clean Energy Technology Center. A separately branded Texas operation at igt.solar is a distinct entity, not the company profiled here. Ask for the workmanship term in writing and recent local references, and this looks like a solid regional shop.

This B rests on eighteen years of dates that agree with each other and a complaint file with nothing in it. What it cannot tell you is how the company stands behind its work, because no workmanship warranty is published and the about page is broken. Ask directly: what is the workmanship term, who is on the roof, and can you speak with two or three recent Tallahassee customers. Also confirm you are dealing with the Florida company, since a separately branded Texas entity uses a near identical name.
