Namaste Solar
Read the whole page before you react to the letter, because Namaste Solar is the strongest documented company in our Denver research and the grade is a rule, not a verdict. The record first. Namaste Solar Electric Inc incorporated on February 2, 2005, converted to an employee owned cooperative on January 1, 2011, and has been a Certified B Corporation since January 2011. Its own numbers claim over 200 employees, over 60 co-owners, and more than 13,500 projects in 20 years. The independent number is better evidence: it is the only Denver company in this batch on the 2026 Solar Power World lists, ranked 187 nationally and 14 in Colorado with 7,440.76 kW installed in 2025. BBB shows exactly 0 complaints. Its FAQ says it only employs people who live in Colorado and only installs in Colorado, which is rare discipline in a market full of multi-state sales operations.
Licensing works the Colorado way here: no statewide solar contractor license exists, so the credential that counts is the DORA electrical contractor registration. Namaste holds EC.0007627, active, first issued September 11, 2008, with master electrician Jason David Sharpe as responsible individual since 2015; BBB lists Jason Sharpe as CEO, which matches. A long roster of registered apprentices is employed under the license, the state-side signature of a real field crew. One timing note: the current registration term expires September 30, 2026, a month after this data pull. Renewal is routine, but check the record before you sign anything after that date. Also, do not credit the company a BBB letter grade; its profile is not accredited and displayed no rating letter despite the clean complaint record.
Now the cap. The DORA open data rows show two board actions: case 2013-805, a Letter of Admonition effective March 13, 2013, and case 2017-5407, a Stipulation effective January 31, 2018 and completed that February. Both are resolved administrative electrical board actions, not consumer lawsuits; the only court case found naming the company had Namaste as the plaintiff, back in 2014. Our rubric still counts board discipline as government enforcement, and enforcement caps the grade at D regardless of everything above. The warranty is published and specific: a ten year residential workmanship warranty, panels with a 30 year production and 25 year product warranty, inverters 12 to 25 years, and on the commercial side a 2 year workmanship warranty with operations and maintenance included. If the two old board files do not bother you once you have asked about them, this is the most verifiable installer in the track.
The evidence
The company FAQ dates the founding to February 2, 2005, the 20th birthday blog confirms incorporation on that day in 2005 and names co-founders Blake Jones, Ray Tuomey, and Wes Kennedy, and BBB records the business start as February 1, 2005 with incorporation February 2, 2005. The cooperative conversion on January 1, 2011 and the January 2011 B Corp certification are confirmed by Project Equity and the B Corp directory. Twenty one years, consistently documented.

The DORA open data rows for license EC.0007627 record two board actions: case 2013-805, a Letter of Admonition effective March 13, 2013, and case 2017-5407, a Stipulation effective January 31, 2018, completed February 9, 2018. Both are resolved administrative electrical board actions, and government enforcement caps the grade by rule. The consumer side is spotless: BBB shows 0 complaints, no AG action was found, and the only court case located had Namaste as plaintiff in 2014.

Solar Power World's 2026 national list ranks Namaste Solar 187 with 7,440.76 kW installed in 2025 as a primary-service installer across commercial, industrial, and residential markets, and the 2026 Colorado list ranks it 14 in state on the same figure. It is the only company in this Denver track that appears on either list.
Colorado has no statewide solar contractor license; the state lane is the DORA electrical contractor registration, and Namaste Solar Electric Inc holds EC.0007627, active, originally issued September 11, 2008, with responsible master electrician Jason David Sharpe, ME.0030331, since January 16, 2015 and a long roster of registered apprentices employed under the license. The current term expires September 30, 2026, one month after this data pull, so verify the renewal before contracting past that date.
The company FAQ publishes a ten year residential workmanship warranty, panels carrying a 30 year production warranty and a 25 year product warranty, and inverter warranties of 12 to 25 years. Commercial projects get a 2 year workmanship warranty with preventative operations and maintenance over the same period. These are company statements, so have the residential term written into the contract.

How to read this
Understand what this D contains before you rank companies by letter. The cap comes from a 2013 letter of admonition and a 2017 stipulation, both resolved years ago, and our rubric applies the enforcement cap mechanically rather than weighing age or severity. Everything a homeowner can independently verify here, license, volume, complaint record, longevity, is stronger than most profiles we publish. Ask the company what the two board cases involved, confirm the license renewal lands before September 30, 2026, and judge the answers. Our full rubric, including how our own installation business gets graded on the same scale, is on the methodology page. We are a solar installer and we partner with other solar companies. Grading is structurally separated from revenue; see disclosures.
