Robinhood Solar Group
Robinhood Solar Group is not an installer, so we do not grade it on the installer scale. It is a sales organization based in Passaic that sells systems through Powur, a California platform company, and four separate sources say so without contradicting each other. First, the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs lookup has no Home Improvement Contractor registration under this name; a ROBINHOOD business search returns only Robinhood Roofing and Construction LLC of Little Egg Harbor, an unrelated company with a different owner, and an Electrical Contractors search returns nothing. Second, the license number BBB displays for Robinhood Solar Group, 13VH11116500, traces on the state lookup to POWUR PBC INC of Del Mar, California, owner Jonathan Gregory Budd, active since August 10, 2020. Third, BBB lists "Powur PBC INC" as an alternate name for the business. Fourth, Powur's own site hosts a seller page for owner Ubaldo Torres, "Powur Seller since 2020", a Powur top seller ranked number 3 in 2021 and number 1 in 2022.
The company's own pages agree. The homepage headline calls the team "Solar Energy Consultants helping Homeowners", and the story section says Ubaldo Torres moved into solar as a Solar Consultant in 2020. The services page states the company works with outside installation teams that are NABCEP certified and drops them if they miss its standards, and describes its advertised 30 year warranty as Powur Care, Powur's program covering defective equipment, workmanship errors, and roof penetration integrity. So the installer of record and the warranty provider are both third parties. The services page also claims installation in over 20 states plus Puerto Rico, a footprint that belongs to the Powur platform, not to a Passaic sales office. None of this is hidden. It is simply not what an installer profile measures.
What the record does show is clean for what it is. Founding is consistent at 2020 across the site, BBB (business started and incorporated May 29, 2020), and the Powur seller page. BBB rates the company A+ with 0 complaints, though it is not BBB accredited. No Attorney General action or lawsuit naming the company was found; every search result concerned the unrelated brokerage Robinhood Markets. It does not appear on either 2026 Solar Power World list, which is expected, because any volume it sold would be reported by whoever built it. If you take a Robinhood quote, you are choosing a salesperson, not a crew. Ask for the name and 13VH or 34EB number of the New Jersey company that will actually pull your permit and put people on your roof, and evaluate that company instead.
The evidence
Founding is consistent at 2020 across three sources: the company site says the journey began in 2020 under founder Ubaldo Torres, BBB records Business Started May 29, 2020 and Business Incorporated May 29, 2020 as a Corporation, and Powur's seller page says Powur Seller since 2020. That is six years as a sales organization, not six years of installing.
BBB shows 0 complaints and an A+ rating; the business is not BBB accredited. A search for lawsuits or Attorney General action naming Robinhood Solar Group returned only results about the unrelated brokerage Robinhood Markets Inc and unrelated solar companies. No enforcement was found. Because the company holds no license of its own, there is also no state license record through which board actions could attach.
Robinhood Solar Group does not appear in the 2026 Solar Power World national table of 388 contractors or the 2026 New Jersey table of 35. The only volume statement found is the owner's testimonial on Powur's seller page that the platform allowed him to help hundreds of homeowners. Systems sold through Powur are installed by outside teams, so no installation volume can be attributed to this company.
No NJ Home Improvement Contractor registration or electrical license exists under the Robinhood Solar Group name. A ROBINHOOD business search on the state lookup returned only Robinhood Roofing and Construction LLC, 13VH14053600, owner Robert Vaughn, Little Egg Harbor, an unrelated company. The license BBB reports for Robinhood Solar Group, 13VH11116500, belongs to POWUR PBC INC, 2683 Via De La Valle, Ste 321G, Del Mar CA 92014, owner Jonathan Gregory Budd, Active, issued August 10, 2020, expiring March 31, 2027. A sales dealer selling under a platform's registration cannot itself contract or permit your installation.

The 30 year warranty advertised on the homepage is Powur Care, Powur's program, per the company's own services page: coverage for defective equipment, installation workmanship errors, racking, inverters, and roof penetration integrity, transferable, no deductibles. No warranty issued by Robinhood Solar Group itself exists on the fetched pages. Whatever coverage you receive runs to Powur and its installation partner, so get the Powur Care terms in writing with the installer of record named.

How to read this
The N/A badge means the installer rubric does not fit this company, not that it failed. Robinhood Solar Group sells; Powur and its partner crews build and warrant. That model is legal and common, and the zero complaint record is a point in its favor as a sales office. The risk is that you sign with a friendly consultant and never learn who is actually accountable for the roof penetrations. Before any deposit, get the installer of record in writing with its New Jersey HIC or electrical permit number, look that company up, and read the Powur Care terms rather than the 30 year headline.
