Run on Sun
Do not sign a new solar contract with Run on Sun until CSLB shows the matching license current and active. The state record for NOPEC Inc, doing business as Run on Sun, expired July 31, 2026 and says the contractor is not able to contract. CSLB says the corporation must return to active status and needs a contractor bond to renew or reactivate. The record separately shows the contractor bond cancelled on August 5, 2026. That is not a cosmetic administrative gap. It is an active license problem, and the published rubric requires an F.
There are strengths in the older record, including a 2008 B General Building license issue date, a company statement that it has been in business since 2006, and a BBB profile showing an A+ rating with one complaint in three years. The company said that complaint concerned a different Sunrun entity. None of those points permits contracting while the license says otherwise. No exact workmanship term, defined service area, crew arrangement, or independent volume figure was confirmed. If the license returns to active status, start the review over with a current CSLB record, current bond, written warranty, and a contract under the active legal entity.

The CSLB detail page showed no complaint-disclosure section, citation, accusation, or civil-judgment section, meaning no publicly disclosable item was displayed on the research date rather than proof of no complaints, while BBB shows one complaint in three years and one closed in 12 months marked Answered and the business stated it concerned a distinct Sunrun entity, with no separate government enforcement action confirmed.

Run on Sun was absent from the 2026 national, 2025 California, and 2026 installer Solar Power World lists, and its claim to be a local solar and storage installer with roughly 60 percent of business in SCE territory does not establish a project count, megawatt total, or other independently reported volume.

Until the record says current and active, choose a contractor whose public license status supports the agreement you are about to sign.
