It sells residential solar across the five boroughs, Long Island, and upstate New York, and publishes a 25-year warranty for panels and installation. The important counterweight is a NYS Department of Public Service Notice of Apparent Violation dated April 26, 2024. The notice alleged missed DER-provider compliance filings and failures to respond to reminders and calls, then directed the company to cure the filing or withdraw its registration. We did not locate the matter's resolution. An active local license does not erase that government record, so this page is capped at D.

On April 26, 2024, NYS Department of Public Service Staff issued Solar Pro Inc. a Notice of Apparent Violation alleging failure to file the required 2024 Annual Compliance Statement and 2023 Annual Compliance Report by the March 31 deadline, and failure to respond to a March 1 reminder, an April 5 overdue notice, and calls from April 18 to 20. The notice required a response in Matter 24-00877, either curing the filings or withdrawing DER Provider registration, with an Order to Show Cause possible otherwise. The outcome was not located. BBB shows an A rating but does not state a complaint count.

No install count, MW total, or employee count was published in the sources we reviewed, and Solar Pro did not match the 2026 Top New York Solar Contractors list. The company says a typical New York home uses 17 to 30 panels and that installation takes one to three days, but that describes a process, not completed volume.

New York has no statewide solar contractor license, and Solar Pro's own site does not publish a license number. No DOB electrician license number was verified in the research.

How to read this

The documented DPS notice changes the buying decision here. Solar Pro may be able to quote and build a sound system, but the unresolved government record means you should not treat its sales presentation as sufficient diligence. Ask for written confirmation of the final status of Matter 24-00877, the name and license number of the electrician, and a contract copy of the 25-year warranty. If the response is vague, move on. This is exactly the kind of record that has to be answered with documents, not reassurance.
