Installer profile

Solar Shine San Diego

C
Capped at C. Solar Shine San Diego presents itself as a panel cleaning business, not an installer, and no CSLB license record was found. This is not a rooftop contractor profile.
Solar Shine San Diego should not be evaluated as a solar installer. Its own site says panel cleaning is all it does, with recurring maintenance reminders for customers across San Diego County. That is a legitimate service category, but it is not electrical work, system design, repair, or construction. The CSLB searches found no license under Solar Shine or owner Scott Heylman, which fits the cleaning-only presentation. The business is described as established in 2019, but no company warranty, legal entity, street address, BBB profile, or installer volume was published or found. Use this business for the work it says it performs. Do not mistake a cleaning appointment for evidence that it can install or warrant a rooftop solar system.

The evidence

LongevityVerified

A WorkInSolar listing describes Solar Shine San Diego as established in 2019 and family owned. Thumbtack separately shows seven years in business. The company site does not publish a founding year, so these third-party dates are the available history.

Complaints and enforcementPending verification

No company-matched BBB profile was found. The research found no government enforcement result, but there is no CSLB license record through which a state complaint disclosure could be checked. The data was not published or found as a clean complaint count.

Verifiable volumePending verification

Solar Shine did not appear on the 2026 national or 2025 California Solar Power World contractor lists. Thumbtack shows 22 hires and three employees, but that is platform activity for cleaning services, not verified solar installation volume.

License statusPending verification

CSLB business-name searches for SOLAR SHINE and SOLAR SHIN returned adjacent licensees, not Solar Shine San Diego. A HEYLMAN personnel search also found no record for the owner named in third-party material. No CSLB license was found. That is consistent with a cleaning-only business, not a reason to hire it for installation work.

Warranty termsPending verification

No company workmanship warranty was published. Thumbtack lists a platform money-back guarantee, which is not the same thing as a Solar Shine warranty for cleaning work or a construction warranty.

How to read this

Keep the scope clean. If you want panels washed, ask what cleaning method is used, what happens if a panel is damaged, and whether the business carries insurance appropriate to that service. If you need a new array, electrical diagnosis, a roof penetration fixed, or a permit pulled, stop here and start a separate search for a properly licensed rooftop contractor. Those are different jobs with different risk. Our full rubric, including how our own installation business gets graded on the same scale, is on the methodology page. We are a solar installer and we partner with other solar companies. Grading is structurally separated from revenue; see disclosures.
