Trinity Solar
The evidence
Founded 1994 as Trinity Heating & Air by the Pollock brothers, solar since 2007, BBB business start February 1994. That is 32 years, the longest record in our Massachusetts set. TSG Consumer Partners took a growth stake in 2023 and a new CEO arrived in 2024, so the company you contract with today is private equity backed, not the family shop the marketing leans on.

231 BBB complaints in the last three years, 101 closed in the last 12 months, against an A+ accredited BBB profile. Separately: a NJ jury found for a consumer against Trinity under the Consumer Fraud Act in a verdict posted July 2026, with treble damages and attorney fees; a robocall class action filed in 2021; and an OSHA citation that became a final order in February 2025. Scale explains some complaint volume. It does not explain a fraud verdict.

Ranked #2 on the 2026 Solar Power World Top Massachusetts Solar Contractors list with 13,850.85 kW of residential installs in 2025, and #45 nationally. Trade press reports 1,139,650 kW since founding and the company claims more than 125,000 installations. The volume is real and independently reported.
Trinity publishes Massachusetts Electrical Business license 8746-EL-A1 and HIC registration 170355 on its own licenses page, with branch addresses in West Wareham and Holyoke. Publishing both numbers is the disclosure standard we want every installer to meet. The numbers are company-published rather than state-confirmed because Massachusetts offers no machine-readable lookup, so verify at the Contractor Hub if you want certainty.
Published breakdown for upfront purchases: 25-year panels, up to 12-year inverter, 10-year labor, 5-year roof penetration coverage. The marketing headline of up to 25-year parts and labor depends on equipment, payment arrangement, and install date, so the number that matters in your contract is the 10-year labor term, not the billboard figure.

How to read this
Trinity is the case that shows why we grade on evidence instead of size. Thirty-two years, published licenses, published warranties, and enormous verified volume would normally add up to an A. A jury verdict for consumer fraud and 231 complaints pull it to a C, because our rubric weights conduct over scale. If you get a Trinity quote, the practical move is to read the contract against the 10-year labor term and get every sales promise in writing. Our full rubric, including how our own installation business gets graded on the same scale, is on the methodology page. We are a solar installer and we partner with other solar companies. Grading is structurally separated from revenue; see disclosures.
