Ranked #13 on the 2026 Solar Power World Top Massachusetts Solar Contractors list with 4,010.09 kW installed in 2025, and 21,875 kW since founding per its trade press supplier profile. Notably, its entire national footprint is Massachusetts, which for a buyer here is a feature, not a limitation. The company's claim of 2,800+ total systems is its own number and we treat it as a claim.
BBB lists Division of Professional Licensure license 664 expiring July 31, 2028 and HIC registration 186338 expiring October 27, 2026. Expiration dates on file are a good sign; no other installer in this set has them visible. Still BBB-reproduced rather than confirmed against a live state record, because Massachusetts offers no machine-readable lookup, so pending on a technicality.

Publishes a 95% production guarantee backed by its SunAlert monitoring program, which is a real commitment with a measurable trigger. What is missing is a workmanship warranty term in writing on any public page. Ask for the labor coverage period before you sign; the production guarantee does not cover a leaking roof penetration.

Valley Solar sits in an unusual spot: small, local, and better documented on licensing than installers twenty times its size. If you live in the Pioneer Valley it belongs on your quote list. The open items are a visible complaint count and a written workmanship term, and the second one you can close yourself by asking. The 95% production guarantee is only as good as the monitoring behind it, so ask how SunAlert measures shortfall and what the payout mechanics are.
