The evidence
BBB lists a May 4, 2021 business start and January 21, 2020 incorporation date. That is a relatively short public operating record, not a reason to disqualify a contractor by itself. The company identifies Alex Bril, Pedro Vallega, and Borja Penalver as co-founders.

BBB reports one complaint in the last three years and one closed in the last 12 months. More importantly, after a January 15, 2026 formal hearing, Miami-Dade County administratively suspended Solar Volt, Inc.'s permit privileges under CVC57149 and instructed county departments to refrain from issuing new permits under the license. That documented government action is an adverse record, regardless of the BBB rating.

The company's public about page does not publish an installation or MW count, and VOLT Home did not appear in the Solar Power World Florida contractor list reviewed for this research. Twenty employees is a useful size signal, but it does not establish completed residential solar volume.

VOLT Home publishes Florida solar license CVC57149, and Miami-Dade independently identifies that license as Solar Volt, Inc. with Borja Penalver as qualifying agent. The same county record documents the permit-privilege suspension. Florida DBPR status and expiration could not be confirmed because the database was inaccessible in this research.

The terms say workmanship coverage is set out in the Project Agreement, but do not publish a duration. They describe typical 25-year panel performance warranties and roughly 12.5-year inverter warranties, while stating that production and savings figures are estimates rather than guarantees. Ask for the labor term and every exception in the signed agreement.

How to read this
This is not a profile where an A+ BBB rating should end the conversation. Ask VOLT Home whether the Miami-Dade permit suspension has been lifted, what permits it can obtain today, and which legal entity will be on your contract and permit application. Get the answer in writing. Then ask for the specific workmanship duration and for the terms that govern roof penetrations, production estimates, and system service. If the permit path is unclear, do not treat that as a paperwork detail. It is the job. Our full rubric, including how our own installation business gets graded on the same scale, is on the methodology page. We are a solar installer and we partner with other solar companies. Grading is structurally separated from revenue; see disclosures.
